Mrs. Heay came to Cortes Island in the early 1890s and lived with her son Horace Heay (brother of Mrs. Hague) in the home he built at the mouth of Manson's Lagoon. In 1895 Mrs. Hague brought her daughters and stayed there too for a time until the Hague home was built on Manson's Lagoon." (from May Ellingsen Historic Photograph Collection: Album 2, p. 19). Annabelle Jane Smith (née Graham), April 10, 1940 – November 19, 2012
Annabelle passed away in Quesnel, BC. She is survived by her daughters Darlene (Dan) Johnson and Paulene Smith, and two granddaughters Brittney and Brooke. She also leaves behind her sisters Penny (Harold) Tuck, Bonnie Skoropad, and Marilyn (Jim) Schmor, brother Robert and many nieces and nephews.

"MaryAnn's dad Jack Parry hung his nets in this barn (can see in right opening of barn). Was down near far end of Smelt Bay park where end fence is--on other side of chain link fence. Barbara Parker brown sweater, long hair. Charlie Jeffery squatting (L) with striped sweater."
