Series consists of materials relating to the Cortes Island Official Community Plan (OCP) and the Zoning Bylaw. It includes copies of the first and second Official Community Plans (1979 and 1995) and the first and second Zoning Bylaws (1970 and 2002). George Sirk was elected Regional Director of Electoral Area I (Cortes Island) in the Regional District of Comox-Strathcona in 1996. He served three terms as Director, from 1996 to 2005.

Linda Gagnon was elected Regional Director of Electoral Area I (Cortes Island) for the Regional District of Comox-Strathcona (RDCS) in November of 1987. She served one term, from 1987 through 1990.

At the end of her term, Linda Gagnon turned materials relating to her work as Director over to her successor, Ralph Nursall. Nursall donated these materials to the Cortes Island Museum and Archives Society in 2002.
